Randomnosity: The June 12, 2014 Edition

Here we go!

• HELP! If any of you have any tips for dealing with inflammation due to seasonal allergies I REALLY would like to know them!!!!  I take Zyrtec (Cetirizine) year round but during peak periods my energy levels really drop due to the inflammation.  A doctor once said the experience is akin to getting drowsy after a sunburn. Still, I had being tired during the time of year when I want to play outside the most.  Please help if you know anything at all!

• I am pretty highly skilled at losing those little items that I actually need.  SO, I sucked it up and bought this gadget from Amazon: Click 'N Dig! Key Finder. As luck would have it, I have yet to lose anything since I bought it. (Sooo...maybe it is working already? HA!) Still, I have tested it and it looks like it could keep me from those frantic searches in the future.  The only downside is that the "flat" ones are still a little bulky to attach to your phone but I did anyways because I am really tired of digging through my couch to find the stupid thing. ;-)

• I have started using Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light as my finishing powder and I am really enjoying the finish it provides, especially given the season.

• Back in February I bought my sister's signature scent, Happy by Clinique.  It is just so fresh and light and clean.  This week I got Harvey Prince's Hello from Birchbox and I am starting to enjoy that one as well...

• I have really been enjoying the Sacha Juan Ocean Mist I got in the POPSUGAR Must Have Summer Special Edition Box.  It gives my hair a flattering, beachy texture without making it crunchy or weighing it down.

• Brace yourselves.  This week I visited a Bath and Body Works for the very first time. I know. It is weird that I had not been there before, but there you have it. Among other things, I bought a glow in the dark Pocketbac holder because....it glows in the dark.  And you know, I can't tell you how many times I have wished my hand sanitizer was luminiscent in the dark.  But apparently, I am nine years old at heart so I neeeeeded it. ;-)

• I have bought a few of the NYX Macaron Lippies and I am having a lot of fun straight up playing with them. My boyfriend however is not a fan ;-) I have five and they make me feel like I am about....five. ;-)

• I recently learned how to make my own sushi so I am pretty much making sushi every single day now.  I also ordered some Kracie Happy Kitchen Popin Cookin kits (intended for kids, but whatever) and they are silly fun.

• I changed the layout of the comments section for a bit because that format did a better job of blocking spammers but it was also not as user friendly for you all to share your tidbits. Sooo...I ditched it because I missed hearing from you all. ;-)

Randomnosity: The June 5, 2014 Edition

Here we go!

• I really want one of those NYX Macaron Lippies even though I cannot imagine wearing one outside of my house (unless it is Halloween).  Plus, I cannot figure out what color would be coolest. If any of you want to weigh in one this point, let me know, because we ALL know I will end up getting one of them.

• I have been all about highlighters and "effects" face powders lately (i.e., Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders, Too Faced Candlelight Duo, etc.).

• I recently learned about using antiperspirant on the face to prevent makeup melt on special occasions. Why did I not know about this before?  For the record, the Almay one works better than the one specifically formulated for the face.

• I am once again reminded of how Coromega makes my skin and hair more luminous when I run out. (Plus it is good for health in general.)

• Even though I have plenty, I continue to want more eyeshadow palettes. This annoys me.  
• There are two things I always get complimented on: my eyes and my smile.  I go through bouts of being realllllllly into my dental care to keep my smile sparkly.  I am now in the midst of one of those phases. So I have bought: teeth whitening stuff (duh), Waterpik Ultra flosser, Periogen Tartar removing rinse, Tooth Polishing tool, and the tooth polish that the dentist uses. Am I the only one who does this?

Randomnosity: The January 7, 2014 Edition (Naked3, NYX, False Lashes, My New Year's Resolution, It's Really Cold)

As promised, this post is chock full of randomness...Enjoy!

• Tonight, on impulse, I swatched Urban Decay's Blackheart eyeshadow (from the Naked3 palette) over NYX's Black Bean Jumbo Pencil and....IT WAS AWESOME. Seriously, it cranked that color up to another level. If you have both of these in your stash try it and experience the awesome.
• So, last year I actually had a Beauty New Year's Resolution, which is seriously pretty dorky but nonetheless true.  I resolved to wear eyeshadow every day (unless I was sick) until I could capably create any look I wanted. Mission accomplished!
• So, this year I seek to tackle false eyelashes. This one should be easier because I think I already have made good progress and we are only a few days in.  I will apply false lashes (not necessarily wear them where others can see me) at least 5 out of 7 days of the week until I am really comfortable with the process.  In case you were wondering, is there any good reason I need to become comfortable with false eyelash application? No. None at all. But I like to attack things that intimidate me, so there you have it :-)
• Allll the subscriptions (it seems anyways) are late to ship and late to post sneaky teasers.  Normally, I am sort of okay with this. Oddly enough, having a blog about spoilers (which was born from my impatience for spoilers) has taught me patience.  It is a problem for me at the moment though, because this is not a good week for me to have to spoiler hunt. Last week, would have been fine, this week is rough. Not only do I have the scary cold outside to contend with, but I have been realllly sick.  Reallllly sick. As in, posting on the internet seems like effort :-( 
•  I am grateful to the electric company for maintaining service (and therefore heat) and I am grateful for the sweet ways you guys surprise me and share your sweetness, kind feedback, and enthusiasm with me. Thank you <3

Randomnosity January 2, 2014 Edition

So.. today I received Stila's Color Me Glossy Set of assorted lip glosses...

 And my dog was requesting a cuddle.  And smooching did happen. Right on his "paw print." And it took a bit of effort to remove. Blame Stila ;-)

It is not easy living with a beauty blogger....HA!

Other random tidbits...

• I decided to title this Randomnosity because I thought it might be fun for my random tidbits to have their own title.  FYI, nothing serious will ever be posted under this tag-guaranteed.
• Recently I bumped into some ridiculously cute comments some of you guys made about my blog and it TOTALLY made my day. Actually, it totally made a few days for me. Thank you so very much. <3
• Tonight, I pulled out my Ecobeauty book by Lauren and Janice Cox, so I could whip up some lip balm, and stick moisturizer (weird I know, but I sort of like that format for moisturizing my feet before bed).
• Making my own bath and beauty products is an utterly ridiculous (but pretty fun) past time of mine.  Utterly ridiculous, because I have a ton of wonderful, high quality, bath and beauty products at my disposal at all times. BUT IT IS FUN, so I do it! Also, sometimes, I want the fragrance of one thing, with the texture of another.  You could call it Frankenbeauty.  Also, my peeps LOVE getting my confections as gifts since they are generally cute and always indulgent.  Still. It is a bit silly.
