DeleteToday I sent a little present as a surprise to a friend :-)
ReplyDeleteI downloaded I Heart Radio onto my mom's phone so she can listen to Christmas music because she loved the Michael Buble cd I gave her. I also gave my parents a Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark bar each; which is what I live for. I'm not kidding. When the weather starts getting cold, I start thinking, "It's Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark season!" and stock up on all I find to keep in the freezer all year. It's so yummy when it's cold and crisp. I also treated a friend to lunch because he was low on cash. Oh, and two ladies in motorized wheelchairs were trying to get around Target today and one knocked a box off a shelf and couldn't move forward or around it so I moved it out of the way so the two of them could shop. I could tell she was embarrassed that she couldn't move it herself but I brushed it off and told her it wasn't a problem at all and that I'd had knee surgery myself and know how hard it can be to get around sometimes. She seemed relieved that I didn't see her as weak or disable; just a gal helping another gal because that's what us gals do.
ReplyDeleteWOW! You definitely have me beat, I need to up my niceness game! And now I want that peppermint bark!
DeleteTOTALLY just bought the peppermint bark because of you!!!!!! LOVE!

DeleteI'd like to share a kind act that I saw today. There was a 13 year old dog brought to the Kentucky Humane Society for adoption after its owner passed away. A dog lover who could not adopt him into her very full home wants to see him find a happy forever home so she paid his adoption fees and everything that goes with it so that the right person could find him and take him home. That is one of the kindest things I've ever seen. Talk about paying it forward. Can you imagine how much happiness she spread to the lucky family who gets to have him in their lives and the dog who is given a second chance and a new forever home.
ReplyDeleteThat REALLY warmed my heart, thank you so very much for sharing that. I want to just give that lady a hug.

ReplyDeleteWow, you ARE a good daughter!
DeleteToday I cheered up a friend on the phone.
ReplyDeleteLast night, when I saw eggs and bacon in the cereal aisle of the grocery store, I took it up to the clerk when I checked out so she could dispose of it properly. I hate when things get put on the shelf to go bad or rot so I try to give the things I find in random spots, especially things that are put on the shelves in the checkout line. It keeps the store neater and lessens the risk of food contaminating the things we buy. It's a nerdy thing to do but I can't help myself.
ReplyDeleteThat is really thoughtful of you! By the way, did you see that you made me buy the peppermint bark?

ReplyDeleteLiving in an apartment complex with an on-site laundry facility is both awesome and frustrating. Sometimes we get sidetracked by other chores and leaver our clothes in the washer a bit too long. Today, someone left their towels in the washer, so having a fresh stash of quarters, I tossed then in and started up the dryer. When I returned, there was a bright postit with a smiley face and a simple Thank You! Day made.
